It's Pakistani Muslims, some of the hardest hardline Muslims in the world, trying to tear down roadside advertising that they consider to be obscene.

Yea, I thought that picture looked a little obscene. You can almost see her gums. And they're probably smiling because neither of them is wearing pants.

Once in Argentina I saw a sign in spanish that said "No Arrojar Basura," which means "Do not dump trash." At the base of the sign was a pile of the most disgusting moldy garbage that several people had obviously contributed to on a daily basis THAT REACHED ALL THE WAY TO THE METAL SIGN AT THE TOP!

That would be almost as good an IOTD as this one.

Its obscene because it can be. I love the way she's holding that bottle. Its so BAD!

Maybe it's a combo of the woman and the way she's holding that bottle.
I've done shore leave in Dubai and kuwait where even storebought movies have blurred bubbles over the racy bits and forget about anything remotely stimulating ( for my jaded tastes) on the tele.
After a while I got to the point where the sight of bare midriff on punjab Mtv was cause for ...er...celebration. I was forced to re-ignite my imagination.
Being as the guys above have probably never had anything but their imagination the ads must seem extremely provocotive which can be a real problem when you only wear light cotton whatevers and no undie grundies. :o

Maybe they just don't like Pepsi

I like the ladder, looks home made and about ready to fall. Remember the important thing is to be safe.

Those ladders are very secure, made form bamboo as thick as your arm (unless you are particular muscled or weedy) and generally lashed together well. Trust me on this, I've climbed one of them while I was living there.

It's obscene--it's Pepsi and every one knows Coke is better. Unless you can get an RC, of course. :)

Though Coke is not sold in Pakistan at all. It's Pepsi or nothing (barring Fanta which is basically pure sugar and colourings).

How dare that beautiful woman smile, show teeth, hair, nose, ears, neck, arms...she proves herself even less than the traditional .5 human worth of the male, tricked, seduced, and dishonored by her and her brazen Pepsi. Grrrrrrrrr. She is so ungrateful.

Oh yeah, and she's out of the house without permission.

And enjoying life.

Recent story had a Florida muslim woman not wanting to remove her headgear for her license photo. Some wag took a look at how the Islamic countries would treat such a matter. If the more liberal ones, they remove the veil for the photo. In the less liberal ones, females are not permitted to drive at all.

And some would just stone her for being upitty...

Fanta and lubricant are two words that should never be in the same sentence. Irrispective of context.

As a rule i have no problem with people pulling down ads (Australia has a strong adbusting community and had THE best Reclaim The Streets party the world has ever seen) but i'm gonna laugh if the ad underneath is worse.
