That's a pretty cool image you found there. The way the light from above contrasts with the background of the hazy clouds, the fighter looks like it was PS'ed in there.

I do have a 1024x768 version that I'll post a link to. I'm currently moving my company into bigger office space and my FTP servers are down (along with my high-speed connections :( ). As soon as we get back up and running, I'll post the link.

That fighter seems a bit underdressed for combat.

I guess the idea is that a missile would be too dangerous to have around, since if used they'd probably go right after the shuttle (the shuttle exhaust being somewhat warmer than your average intruding aircraft).

Instead, I think they rely on guns. They then can afford the weight of those wing tanks, giving them extra loitering time over the target area.
