First Tsunami Wave Coming In.....
1 Attachment(s)
From this picture you can get a better perspective how big the First Tsunami Wave was in. The White bldg closest to you is 21 Stories HIGH... the Brownish Bldg in the middle of the picture is 34 Stories HIGH.. NOW compare with the top of the Wave coming in....[not sure where this is taken, but it's 2005]

Where is this? Thailand? I personally call bullshit on this one, but I could be mistaken.

LOL I'm so gullible. OK I must learn how to find things like this on Snopes. I've never been to that site. I'll have to investigate it.
Are there other sites like snopes too? I have heard of the smoking gun, is that the same? Any more? |
I used a number of websites when I first started getting urban myth emails & pictures back in the 90s, but snopes was consistently the best.
If anyone knows of a site that can match snopes for research, explanation and ease of use I'd be interested to see it. The great thing about snopes is checking out all the pictures/ rumours you HAVEN'T been sent! Whiles away a quiet afternoon... Just thought I should add - don't worry about posting a fake photo! As I said above, I've been checking snopes for years and I still believed a colleague when she claimed the foot/ foetus photo was of her daughter. AND posted it on here without checking.... |
Yeah, that wave definitely is too high now that I actually look at it. I went to Khao Lak, Thailand, one of the areas most heavily damaged by the tsunami, and the high water mark was halfway up most trees... I even have a picture, somewhere, of a tree with a crudely painted sign reading "If tsunami come climb tree ^".

In the film clips, a pretty big wave breaks onshore, looking pretty normal, but it doesn't go back out after it breaks. Then another follows, and another, and another.......:(
