For those of you who write your cogressmen and women, this is a powerful tool.
Megavote It looks like this. |
My congressmen tell me how they vote. I'd rather they tell me how they're going to vote. ;)
|
I love you, rkzenrage.
The only thing my lazy ass needs now is a "pork-alert" that gives a brief summary of the unrelated crap that gets tacked onto each bill. The devil is in the details. |
I write to women all the time but the site didn't help me much :D

Well, I guess, it can be amusing to see how your personal "representative" in King George IV's House of Lords voted on something, but I wouldn't get my knickers tied in a knot writing the SOB's about it. I've written so many letters to Washington and the state legislature of Colorado that I have carpel tunnel. I'll spare the rest of you and give you a synopsis of the answer I invariably recieve:
Dear Peon -er Constituent: Our office is always pleased to receive letters from suckers - I mean voters - like yourself. Why, I actually put down my notice from Ed McMahan of Publisher's Clearing House just to read your insightful missive. Please be assured that I will take your ideas into consideration the next time I'm invited to an intimate dinner for 10,000 at Halliburton. I'll be sure to let them know what the folks in Utah, er Colorado are saying. Meanwhile, you are in my thoughts just like all the rest of the idiots who voted me into office. You can send your campaign contributions to: Senator Phil A. Buster, Washington, DC. Hugs and kisses, "Phil" |
A lack of immediate or even favorable response, doesn't mean your letter was a waste of time.
There's a good chance your elected rep never even saw it, but it, plus other letters the rep's flunky reads, help form the answer the rep will get when he asks the flunky which way the wind blows. Don't stop writing to them.... venting is good therapy too. |
The alert also tells you of upcoming votes as well.
