Hurricane Ernesto
 

Jones Beach, NY, had the red flags out.
The beach was closed to swimmers because the remnants of Hurricane Ernesto was causing big, rough surf.
The lifeguards, however, were on duty. Not to pull people out but to keep people out.
Since most people were not stupid enough to attempt it the lifeguards had a lot of time on their hands.....to amuse themselves. :lol:

That looks like a lot of fun.

So...lifeguards can go do silly stuff in the tropical stom driven surf, but mere mortals cannot. I see.:rolleyes:

Bruce , that reminds me of the time I was stationed in Okinowa JP ,
a typhoon was blowing thru , they had us move our wall lockers against the windows and hang out in the center of the squad bay,
we were going to chow one day in rain suits and heard
"YAAAAAAHOOOOO !!!!!! " as this dude went sailing past on a hand cart with a bed sheet and a broom stick !!!
A friend looked at me and said ,
" I wounder how he turns ??"
I said I wounder how he STOPS !!!







A few menits later we heard an ambulance going in the direction he was sailing !!!
