August Sky in Alabama

August sky in Alabama.

This was taken about 4:30 pm, before the golds and reds, but the sun was low enough to create some nice rays.

It was hot and really humid, but I thought this would make a nice picture. Of course, I interpret "nice picture" to mean "Can it be used as my desktop background?".

Ooh. Preferably in a larger resolution?

A 1024x768 version is available.

That's the biggest one I have.

BTW, anyone know why linking directly to an image on Geocities doesn't work? I tried to link directly to the JPG, but it didn't work; if I link to an HTML document, it does. Strange.

Tripod does that as well. Both are trying to save money on bandwidth. I'm assuming that a ton of people were linking to pics on their sites.

They do it on purpose, to keep people from doing what you tried to do... using them as a free image server! This way, people have to go to their site and read their stupid ads. How annoying.

I'm finally going to pay for premium service. No ads, plus you CAN link images. :)

Niiiice!!! I love sky shots like that. I have a ton of them (especially sunsets) that I need to upload.
