Bleeding out the Red Sox!

It looks like they're taking the bait! Now if the Yanks can just dump A-Rod...

Matsuzaka is certainly going to bolster that staff.

Apparently they don't have to pay a luxury tax on the 51 mil. His actual contract looks like a relative bargain. It will probably end up being good for them, but I can always hope.:)

He will certainly be very exciting to watch.
Maybe Boston can put in a challenge this season.

Griff 12-15-2006 11:49 AM

Well, despite all their words to the contrary the Yanks are not appreciably younger yet. If Boston gets a closer they'll be the team to beat.

The could always move Papelbon back to closer if a legitmate starting pitcher emerged.

Griff 12-16-2006 01:12 PM

I think they've ruled that out for fear of hurting that golden arm.

I don't think he'd like that very much, You could see it in his face nearing the end of last year that he wanted to start games.
I don't even think thats an option.
Besides, If the SP's get the kind of batting support they should from this line-up, a first class closer is not needed.
