Camden in....pick your year!!

Here are a few pictures I took of the of the reigning champion of the USA's most dangerous city.

and here is the reason why I was there.
Primary customer receiving 4k volts and stepping it down to what secondary voltage they needed.
Oddly enough, this equipment used to supply a chicken choking plant up until 1977(?or there about)
Those guys must have been the lucky ones or maybe not!

I'll bet those transformers have enough pcbs in them to wipe out half the state of NJ.

i'm sitting about 10 minutes from there right now

I have questions:

1) Why are we picking a year?
2) What are those water softeners for?
3)Why are chickens roaming around a city?
4)Were you there to fix their electrical stuff? What did you have to do?

I'm only being facetious on number 2; I find those pics interesting and would like to know more.

1.Well, the year thing is kind of a joke. I always say about cities like Camden and Trenton that If you take a picture(in black and white usually, doesn't work so well in this case) the average person would have a hard time telling what year it is
2. really big and poisionus(sp) water softeners.
3. can't really tell you why. possibly future food
4. I work for a Utility company and I was there to identify if the equipment was our's or if it was customer owned. New owners assumed the rights to the building and didn't have a clue what the equipment was. Unfortunatly, it is their stuff and our responsibilty ends up @ the connections at the top of the pole

Wawa sound good? Talk about a local reference. Too late now, back in the office warming up.

lumberjim 01-09-2007 12:51 PM

well, maybe next time. cherry hill nissan. finance. ask for jim. cream, no sugar. ;)

The chickens definitely give it a special touch.

But I think Philadelphia might beat Camden out for the title this year.

Shawnee123 01-09-2007 01:02 PM

Thanks for the clarification.

I used to test RF filters and worked with some serious electricity. Subsequently, that setup makes me nervous.

Jim, Im actually eyeing up a 4-door titan, silver.

I think all the thugs crossed over the Ben frank. Camden will always be the armpit of Jersey

Yeah, it is a very unsafe situation. The bad part is that it is inside of a brick building. In the case of an arc or a flash, all that energy has no were to go.

barefoot serpent 01-09-2007 01:04 PM

they've come home to roost...

another obvious end times sign.

I initially thought the water softener in the middle was a big leaky transformer!

The chickens really are a nice touch. Do we have any real estate smarties here? I wonder what those row houses would go for in a non-chicken neighborhood?

I don't have any silver crew cabs at present. i have smoke, blue, white and granite. i can have our truck manager get you whatever you want, though. factory invoice less $2500 rebate or 2.9% for 60 mos. ($3000 or 1.9% for the King Cab)
