This is crazy. I am not a smoker and I don't like going into crowded smokey places but this is a bit over the top.

Anyone leaving anything incriminating out in the open in a hotel room is an idiot. Housekeeping will be looking at anything you do leave out.
If the management was going through luggage or personal property, they should be horse whipped.

The title of this thread makes you initially think that they were searched because they were there for a concert. This has nothing to do with music though, so why is that part of the statement? Other guests smelled cigarette smoke which they knew was in direct violation of the regulations they themselves signed on the way in, and called management. Simple as that. These guys were just morons of the first degree, nothing more insidious then that.

They have no right to search the rooms.
I hope this place ends up being owned by those patrons.
Going to a concert soon, just for kicks I'm going to booby-trap my luggage.
