Halo 3
I just remembered it was released today.
Anyone get it? I'm gonna have to play it with my friend this weekend, fo sho. |
Halo is my all time favorite Xbox game!
I don't have a 360 though, so in order to play it, I'll have to invest. At this stage it's not an option. :( You'll have to tell me how it goes. |
Got it, looks beautiful in HD (significantly improved from Halo 2), the controls are a bit different so it takes some getting used to. Haven't messed with the video recording/editing of online games yet, but the Forge map editor is quite fun with a few friends.
My Live gamertag is: SwitchingToGuns, feel free to add me. |
I don't have 360 Bulllllll.
:( I kinda dropped from console gaming to PC gaming, then from PC gaming to playing Brick and Solitaire and Music Quiz on my iPod. I'm in a gaming descent--don't got the finances to be updated in the gaming world. |
No biggie man, the game has got up to four player co-op and same for split screen multiplayer. Just mooch off of one of your buds!
|
My stepsons had a reserved copy and went out to pick it up at Midnight last night. They beat the straight game in two hours.
|
Yes well, two hours is pretty good. I am by no means a gaming guru that's for sure. In fact, I'm fucking hopeless, but I really like playing Halo. I've just about made up my mind to buy a 360 so I can play it.
I need someone to tell me I should...please??? Tell me it's worth it? |
I"m thinking 2 hours can't be possible. Are you sure they didn't use cheats?
|
Two hours is possible if they did the co-op approach and on a somewhat easy setting. I burned through it in 5 hours on the most difficult level (there's four difficulty levels total) with two of my buddies the other night.
Get it if you love online play with your friends, taunting each other, etc., fast paced shooting with a large variety of weapons and some vehicle driving (not as much as I would like but that may change when more maps become available for download in the future). Off the top of my head there are 25ish weapons, 9ish vehicles, and 6ish equipment pieces (things like deployable shields, trip mines, etc.) available. The match making is what makes the online so good really. It will match you up with other players according to your skill level which the game keeps track of as you play online. So it avoids the annoying getting matched up against someone ten times as good as you and the game being no fun at all. Great thing about it is that since it is so stinkin popular, and has the backing of Microsoft, it will be around to play for a looooong while. Halo 2 was released end of 2004 and it is still played online by many people. Only thing is you have to pay a $50 yearly fee to use the online play. However if you shop around on Amazon, you can find year subscription cards for around $40. Benefits are that it is very stable online play and it is constantly monitored and updated by Microsoft so as to keep the experience as a whole very satisfying and worth the extra dough. |
Hmmm.
I havent bought it yet because I wasnt that impressed with Halo 2....is there something wrong with me? |

Legendary is just too hard to go through on single player - if anyone wants to go through on coop with me let me know. GT = Heatseeker
|
A coworker bought it and finished it in two sittings (less than 8 hours). I would have expected a little more challenge from the latest entry in the franchise.
|
The graphics on Halo 3 are amazing, but the weapon selection and the overall game play isn't the leap from that Halo 2 from Halo 1 brought.
