5/25/2002: Motoring inline skater
http://cellar.org/2002/zzzskater.jpg
From ZZZ online comes these two images of a skater being driven by some sort of half-motorcycle. http://cellar.org/2002/zzzskater2.jpg I dunno. I don't think this is a step forward. I've done a lot of inline skating in my day. The problem with this beast is that, while it looks like a lotta fun, inline skates are prone to trouble over bad surfaces. You hit a minor little ridge going 40 mph, and your face is gonna be turned into hamburger. |
Oh boy
That is going to be one nasty scrape.
|
Even so, it looks like fun!
|
I can't wait to see 30 of these things jostling for space on a crowded track. Those are going to be some pretty cool crashes.
|
And I thought skaters who take their dog out ofr a walk & let the dog pull the along were lazy!
|
I'll have a bit more respect for this guy once he gets rid of that stupid brake on the back of his right skate. Real men don't need brakes to stop (they also end up losing quite a bit of blood during summer roller-hockey games :) )
That is truly cool. It reminds me of the one thing on RealTV where the guy got towed behind a car on the highway, and promptly wrecked on a road reflector. It was one of the nastiest spills I've seen yet. :D |
NASCAR meets Rollerball...

Not to mention telephone poles... ouch. BTW, that motorcycle thing ought to be able to do more than 40mph -- there's devices which can do that with smaller motors and no fairings. The site lists the speed at 70km/h, which is only 43mph. Governed, I suppose. |
Awright, well... all I can say is...
"You first" |
whatever happened...
...to grabbing the bumper of your buddy's car?
*sigh* Kids these days! ;) |
