Full Moon
Full moon. Made from top of mail box 11/23/07. Clear and cold.

I slept in the moonlight last night, it was falling on my pillows. damn blind doesn't fit properly.
I was having trouble falling asleep - all my usual tricks weren't working (and I had bloody Somewhere Out There in my head - because I heard it this week and because the next line is "beneath the pale moonlight"). So I told myself if you sleep in the moonlight you either get bad dreams or dream of your true love... it gets a bit screwy when I can't sleep, okay? Well I didn't dream of my true love let's put it that way. I dreamed I was on a bus abandoned by the driver to sort something out, which started moved on its own - it sounds lame, but imagine if it happened for real - doors locking, engine revving, indicators going etc - it was terrifying. And all the women on it were young and fair and lissom (so was I, it was a dream). It was perhaps a Wicker Man vibe. And my ex HM, who I parted with on very bad terms years ago was on the bus and a horrible betrayal was revealed, and I knew the women wanted me to fight her to the death, but I was too hurt to be angry. Oh and there was a sub-plot involving dead bodies, creepy vets and Ketamine and oddly a really civilised conversation with Lord Voldemort. The moon, eh? Lovely picture Buster. |
Sundae, you should be writing these out in full. I see a career in surrealist horror novels for you.
With dreams like that I'm not sure I'd want to sleep. |
Meh, if I sleep badly I'm in shallow sleep and it gives you more vivid dreams.
It didn't help that HM was up about 07.00 making a crash, bang, wallop. And me awake til gone 04.00. He did apologise, but said it was because his clock was wrong and he thought it was after 09.30, which is when he'd usually start doing those sort of things (TV on, diswasher going, letting cupboards bang rather than closing them)... I will talk to him about that when I am less annoyed and sleep deprived - I have been quiet up to 15.00 in the last four months to fit in with his sleeping patterns, why does he think I should be up by 09.30? He's only three days into a normal routine for heaven's sake. Sorry, very OT, and venting so I can mention it calmly tomorrow. I will ask Monster - she's usually good at spotting when I'm being a witch. |
I just looked through your Canon S3 IS set on Flickr.
Your new computer, desk and camera setup are looking great!. The Ladies Home Journal mag is interesting because it's over 100 years old. Cool pics BB. |

Thank you, Bullitt. Very informative at first glance. I will return here when I can dedicate some more serious attention to the facts of the matter, and when I have more knowledge of the physics and optics of photography.

That link Bullitt gave is very technical.
Just remember that when you are setting the exposure for the moon, it's a sunny day there on the moon. You may think you are taking a night time picture, but it's really a daylight picture. Expose accordingly. Fiddling around with the manual mode of a digital camera and looking at your results in the LCD screen do wonders for getting the exposure right. Here's a shot I took when I was playing around with my new camera a year ago. |
Yes, I was on the space station. Why do you ask?
