I know several people that work from home (including myself,) but they were all regular employees first, who made themselves so indispensible that when they decided to stop working their workplaces were willing to compromise in order to keep them at the company in whatever capacity possible.
I also knew a guy who did tech support from home--it was set up just like a phone sex line, actually, the company had a main number that got routed to his (or some other tech's) house during his "on" hours. |
A lot of answering services work like that too.

back on topic. i work from home most of the time. but i had to spend my time in the trenches of a company before i could open my own financial planning practice. |
