How's al-Qaeda doing?

How's al-Qaeda doing? You decide

The US enemy:
US deficit-spending on defense and homeland security continues to increase, with spending in Iraq alone now approaching US$12 billion per month.

Polls in 2007 showed that 26% of US Muslims under 30 years of age believe that suicide attacks are sometimes necessary in defense of Islam.

Eighteen of the 19 US presidential candidates support maintaining the status quo in US foreign policy toward the Muslim world, especially regarding Saudi Arabia and Israel.

Both US parties and most US media are attacking and trying to limit or end the rendition program run by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), which has captured numerous senior al-Qaeda leaders

US Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell said in July that al-Qaeda had successfully regrouped and was capable of attacking in the United States.

The US-led coalitions in Iraq and Afghanistan continued to shrink in 2007, with, for example, South Korea and Japan withdrawing from Afghanistan, and Poland and Australia announcing they would withdraw their combat forces from Iraq in 2008.
Nowhere is there any good news in this bit. A somber, but telling opinion indeed.

More news from The Central Government of China. You really need to come up with a new source for your news.

acually merc I'm lookin around and trying many different sources. Too many are obviously biased one way or the other leaving the reader with skewed info. The search continues...

They'll be quoting "the terminator" but reacting with far less predictability than Schwartzenegger. Yep, they'll be back alright.

Griff 12-30-2007 07:23 AM

Are you mocking UG intentionally?

Are there still U.S. troops in Iraq? I haven't seen squat on the tv, nor heard any complaining from the candidates. Boy it was all the rage a few months ago. What happened?....or didn't?

TheMercenary 01-23-2008 03:46 PM

HA!

I will be pissed off if they use any US troops to guard that azzhole when he goes to Iraq. If the US was smart they would all go into garrison and stay there when he comes to town. Not a single US troop in the city on any protection missions. We own the Airport and he will have to fly in there. Then someone can show him where the phone is so he can call a cab.
