Stumble Upon
I've been using Mozilla's web browser Firefox off and on for the past 2 years, but now that I've discovered their amazing add-ons I've started using Firefox exclusively. The best add-on IMO is called Stumble Upon. Right after you install the plug-in, it asks you what your interests are (technology, science, weird news, gadgets, conspiracy theories, etc...). Then whenever you click the Stumble Upon button in your browser it takes you to a random web page from one of your chosen categories. There is even a Tivo-like thumbs up / thumbs down rating system which makes your experience better as you go. All the websites are added by other Stumble users so it's always different and never corporate commercials posing as regular sites. Give it a shot and let me know what you think.
Firefox - The browser. Stumble Upon - The insomnia inducing add-in. Where I found Stumble Upon I currently use: Stumble Upon PicLens - When doing a google image search this is a HUGE help. Snap Links - Great for quickly opening a link in a new tab, i rarely ever use it to actually open multiple web pages. Hyperwords - it already found like 5 typos in this post as I typed them. (IF YOU GO TO INSTALL THE ADD-ONS FROM FIREFOX INSTEAD OF IE IT WILL INSTALL AUTOMATICALLY IN SECONDS, OTHERWISE YOU HAVE TO SAVE THEM THEN LOAD THEM IN FIREFOX.) |
Stumble has been around for awhile. The Firefox version was added about a year ago, about the same time Stumble was bought by eBay.
