what I did today

Today I changed the blades on our 5' finish mower ,
Let me tell you it was a Pain in the ASS !!!!!
First you have to figure out how to flip this Heavy Bastard on its Front, safely !!!
You do this by placing 2 big blocks on ether side , and take the front wheels off so the Nose can dig in , Then take the Bottom of the 3 point hitch loose and Pull forward Slowly http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3432/...4581149c_b.jpg
Then tie on some straps for safety AFTER Locking the Breaks !
Then Unbolt the Rusty ass Bolts !!!

That was Fun !!!
This is the Old blade Layed Over the New Blade , I think I got my moneys worth out of them

i recognise that corner of your yard, Zip, (and the mower) I'm all nostalgic....

That's clever, how you did that. I like the idea of pulling forward and letting the tractor do the heavy lifting. Did you figure all that out yourself, or did you read the manual on blade changes?

lumberjim 09-10-2009 09:49 AM

I don't see a cup holder on that tractor. I would expect some American ingenuity in that area from you.

Cup holder!

zippyt 09-10-2009 11:01 PM

Glatt- I figured that All by my self , Yes it took some standing around with a cup of coffee and a few miss starts , but hey that's what a tractor is for !!!
Jim - I have a few different ideas on that that have semi been in the works for a while
Zen - well that works to

Friggin brilliant! I'm tempted to sharpen mine now... but I won't cuz its fall now and I've got other things to fall behind doing. :)

Zip! I love that mower!!! It's such a monster!!!

What I did today? I got up at a ghey public figure's house and could not find any good milk for my coffee. Then I took quizzes on facebook. I am going to now do laundry and clean. I am visiting an online lover in person and probably should take a bath here as well. I will be back in NM on Monday, and hope to have my phone functioning as I needed to respond to an employer today too. I hope she gets my e-mail!! Damn!

Now will there be any more questions? That's it so far. It's only about 11:30 a.m. here. :)
