Gujunega
 

Hey folks,

I don't know how many of you like techno or electronic music, but I've been working on a project lately called Gujunega. (GOO-joo-NAY-guh) is the phonetic spelling for the Cherokee word that means "sycamore." I didn't want to use the Sycamore name for this music because that doesn't feel right.

Anyway, I've created a few songs so far that can be heard at http://myspace.com/gujunega. I don't care for using MySpace, but Facebook makes you jump through hoops to upload your music and then takes forever to approve it.

All the music is created by GarageBand...specifically GarageBand 2, as that's what my MIL has on her iMac. I had to pawn off my guitars recently, but still wanted to make music. So, this is what I'm working on now until I can buy new axes.

So, if you dig techno, head on over and take a listen and share your thoughts. I don't care if you think it's the worst music on Earth...just be honest with me. I'm a big boy...I can handle it.

I love electronic and ambient stuff and yours has got inspiration only held back by the lack of equipment no doubt, and your head is buzzing with ideas I'll bet.
keep it up and to maybe give you some ideas have a listen to this guy i don't know if you've heard of him but his stuff does it for me

Thanks for the kind words, be-bop. I do have a lot of stuff in my head...that's how it's always been musically. Trying to get it out has been the hard part.

Right now, I'm enjoying making things with what I got. Down the line, I want to incorporate things like samples and actual instruments. Kinda starting from a basic point and evolving, ya know?

Eventually, I would love to get a new MacBook with newer GarageBand software, plus buy add-on GarageBand packs. Of course, eventually, I would like to buy a new bass and guitar so that I can resume the Sycamore project. :)

As of now, I have 3 "proper" tracks, which are available as free downloads on the MySpace page. I also have 2 remix tracks up. I have 2 more remix tracks that I don't want to release yet...if I decide to put out a CD or CDs, I'd like to offer folks a little something new. I'm also working on a smooth jazz track, which I should have done by the end of the week.

I figure I have a lot of free time on my hands...might as well make the most of it!
