2010 New Years Resolutions
Ok. I have a few private ones, but my public one is that I am going to try to read more. In the last few days I have been getting up at 445 or 5 am instead of 530 or 545, just to read one of my 3 or 4 books I have on the go. How about you? I want to keep them attainable.

I have only one resolution, and it's to get a physical. I'm 42 and haven't had one in 3-4 years. They are just not convenient. But I should be getting them every year or so. That's my resolution. We just switched insurance providers too, so I have to find a new doctor, I think. Hassle.

Get more exercise and keep my apartment cleaner. I've been wanting to walk more, but its difficult with all the snow and ice covered streets we have around here at the moment. I guess I could use the enforced indoor time to get into cleaning. Alas, I usually opt for a book instead. ;)

Update my IT certs and get at least 1 new one...and lose some weight.
|
Mine is pretty generic...stop eating sweets and lose 40 lbs.
|
Be more organized and stop procrastinating. I have already made a "to do list" of goals I want to accomplish and deadlines I need to complete so hopefully by looking it over and set daily and weekly goals on a consistent basis I will constantly remind and remotivate myself to get stuff done.

Exercise.
|
Try not to die.
|
Clutter-weeding ...
(rather than attempting to have a big clear-out, or even to clear one room, I plan to sometimes pay attention to a single shelf, or drawer, or equally manageable-sized spot and identify what I can throw out, or give to charity shop, or sell on ebay and action that decision immediately). |
Get rid of all the junk I've accumulated over the years and repaint my kitchen and bathroom. And get on a regular exercise program.

Imma let you finish, but mine is to try to be more mindful.
|
A similar one to Limey; also to try and work on my thesis more regularly than I have been doing.
|
Create the time to finish the remaining home projects that got put on hold. 2 bathrooms and new french doors to replace the old crappy slider.
Oh and if I'm really good, I'll clean the basement - Ha! (like that'll ever happen) |

I am currently reading "Wherever You Go, There You Are" by Jon Kabat-zinn. If you ignore the references to buddha/buddhism, and focus on the practice of meditation, then the idea is you will be more mindful by living in the now. My yougest son calls this paying attention. Yep. |
