I don't know if you've seen this before, but here's some Hello Kitty dress-up:

Me want.

It is now the background image on she-boss' computer. I wonder how long it will stay ...

Put down that credit card, and back away from the PC.

I think Wolf enjoys her Hello Kitty stuff.

Darth Vader with ribbon. Wow.

Well, those are just toys, or collectables, or some such.

This is real... and scary.

Me too.

If you go to the original link and scroll a bit further down, there's one with what looks like Maori markings (like something that they'd do the haka in before a confrontation). COOL!

I note the conspicuous absence of the Dominatrix S/M kitty and the Fetish kitty.

Yeah, gotta admit that one is kinda cool.

Tokyo should have these on street corners, just like the fish in Baltimore and the Bears in Boyertown.

Tokyo already has enough freaky stuff-but when you live there, it starts to seem bizarrely normal (the Shibuya girls for one, the vending machines that sell pretty much everything and having one's underwear stolen from the clothesline on one's balcony).

The only thing that I still wonder about from the time I spent in Tokyo was an appartion that I saw along the Meijidori (the main ring road) about 10 at night as I was riding home from work. It was standing on the footpath behind the concrete barriers (some kind of roadwork was going on) and seemed to be too tall to be human (perhaps it was on stilts). It's hair and makeup were incredibly perfect and it was dressed in some bizarre kind of kimono outfit and seemed to be swaying as it waited. Transvestite on stilts perhaps?????
