June 19, 2010: Table Test

Simple test, which table is bigger?

Do you think the green table looks bigger?

Do you think the red table looks bigger?

A yes answer to either question gets a honk, from Beulah the buzzer.

They are the same size.

Related, but simpler, and less about being tricked: The Eyeballing Game.

No matter what, it's always eight inches.

casimendocina 06-19-2010 06:46 AM

Of course it is.

newtimer 06-19-2010 07:20 AM

The green one is bigger. It can seat 6 people; the red one can only seat 4.

I counted the markings on the rug pattern, and came up with a larger surface area for the red table. I have no ruler, so in my universe, the red one is larger.

...and now I'm bored and my eyes are spining. Great game for the kids, though

I think they are not the same size. They may take up the same area/amount of space, but one is longer than the other, one is wider than the other. That's two (2) different sizes.:3eye:
