June 26, 2010: Fo-Ti Root
Fo-Ti, also called Chinese Knotweed, Climbing Knotweed, Flowery Knotweed, He-Shou-Wu, Kashuu, etc, has been used by Chinese herbalists for centuries.

I think they might have excavated the ground into that shape and let the roots grow into it.

Like the square watermelons.

Ed Zachary!

No, being humanesque shape is very common for that plant root.

It's China we're talking about Bruce. Chi-na.

Exactly, they've been using this root forever, and don't need tricks to promote it. The western press/net picked up on this, because they thought it looked like Homer Simpson.

For the past 20 years I've been looking at the free images that others post here for me. I've never felt compelled to say anything until now, but SHAME ON YOU!
This poor, defenseless root was growing happily in the ground, and some cruel Chinaman came along, grabbed its hair, and yanked it up to the surface, where, without any more water, it slowly dried up and died. And for what? So that you people could have a good laugh for a few seconds because it looks like the root is sporting a ding-dong? At least the good people in China can grind up the root to make some Soylent Brown, but what all of you are doing is needless and cruel. You people make me sick. I'm off now to my daily Commie-meeting/Oprah-watching event and I'm never coming back here again! |
