Sept 2, 2010: Philly Recycling Trucks
Stick out your can, here come the garbage man... Uh, recycling man.
Philly decided to make their fleet of recycling trucks more noticeable, to promote the program. http://cellar.org/2010/phillytrashtucks.jpg The city already had a bunch of kids involved in the Mural Arts Program, so they hooked them up with the The Design Center at Philadelphia University's collection of 19th & early 20th century textile designs. Shazam, next time somebody gets run over by one of these, the news footage will make the city look much nicer. link link |
... next time

Yeah I agree.
Wouldn't this wreck look so much nicer if the trucks had those retro pattern paint jobs that contrasted nicely with the Smart car parked between them. http://www.e-forwards.com/wp-content...ownload-1.jpeg |
Precisely. People would say, 'What classy trucks, I wanna wreck in Philly'.:thumb:

Pimps in Philly drive some big cars!
|
I approve.

American jeepneys?

All 3 of the trucks pointed to the right are at the same intersection.
|
Yes, the pictures were taken as they were circling city hall, at their unveiling celebration.
|
You can't fool me Bruce, I know what really happened... The same truck got tagged by a bunch of different gangs. Gangs who happen to specialize in 19'th century textile patterns. They are a real problem.
|
I hate it when that gang tags my garbage trucks.

Just a guess, but I bet the drivers/sanitation engineers have names as colorful as the trucks themselves for their new rides.
