Question mark and the Mysterians might be that 2nd one in the 2nd row. Or jinx might be right with the Who.

End of line 8 Band Aid (Bob Geldof etc)?
End of line 9 Judas Priest?

eta ooh sundae got band aid already, sorry missed that on first read

monster 11-03-2010 10:45 PM

which ones are we still missing, then? (I refuse to look at the answers but I'm too tired to work out which we didn't guess....)

Clodfobble 11-03-2010 11:16 PM

Having looked at the answers, I will give you some non-spoiler pointers.

1.) There are at least 3-4 bands on there that I have never heard of. I am admittedly not the hippest person around when it comes to popular music, but I feel pretty sure that no one here is going to get them.
2.) It's not Band Aid.
3.) Fourth row, last block: it's critical to remember that this chart was created by a Spanish-speaker.

Oh my, I'm glad I gave up and looked.....

Sundae 11-04-2010 01:01 PM

Me too.
Although I had a good snigger to myself. There used to be a sponsor on a show we watched regularly that gave similar clues before each ad break, giving the answer before the programme started again. Obviously to keep you tuned in, but my brother and I amused eachother by coming up with the most obvious response - or if appropriate, the rudest.

There isn't really much to laugh at, suggesting one of those bands might be called Blockbusters, but it brought back happy memories.

monster 11-04-2010 01:26 PM

Oh i thought blockbusters too

I'll have a p please, bob -I want to have a gold run

Last one in row 7, instead of Rage Against the Machine, may be Arcade Fire.

ETA: Middle of row 8 may be Wendy O., from The Plasmatics. What say you?

Gravdigr 11-04-2010 01:46 PM

Damn, I just looked at the answers.

I thought the one next to Judas Priest, was a rifle or a shotgun!
