80s ballads

I just wanted to remind anyone who opens this thread about 80s ballads, as I still think they are awesome.

Currently listening to Eddie Money.

What's your favorite 80s song?

Jim - vid not avilable in my country :(

Kyrie - Mr Mister.
I can admit I still love this...

..can't I?
The key change. It's always the key change. Or the bridge.

Wax - Building a Bridge to your Heart
Ballad? Mebbe not. But pure 80s.

I used to sing along to :
I'll take you any was I can tonight
Come back and satisfy my appetite
You gotta know you mean that much to me
To get you back you know I'll do anything
(HORN!)

I was a virginal 15yo but I knew exactly what was meant and I craved it...

Cheesy, but cool as hell. I could do without Springsteen, but that's just me.

Sundae 12-03-2010 02:05 PM

Ewwwwwwwwwwww.
Sorry, Shaw. It makes my teeths hurt.

In return, the one below makes the hairs on my arms stand up.
No really - it's on Christmas compilations (profits still going to charity) and it stops me still every time. Some things we never grow out of...?

I accept it might have the same effect on you as yours does on me.
Especially as you won't recognise many of the peeps (as I didn't in yours).
But then my neice & nephew would be hard pushed to name more than one in either :)

I could amuse you by trying to name them (We Are The World I mean)...
Having watching it three times I've realised I might be able to put MORE names to it than I can to Do They Know It's Christmas... but in Bob Geldof's defence he simply sent out a call to whoever was available that Sunday.
It's possible even he didn't know some of the people who turned up :)

Really Sundae? I love We are the World....awesome song. Especially the chorus by MJ.....Lionel, Stevie Wonder, Steve Perry, Bob Dylan, Ray Charles?

Maybe it's cause its all Americans, but all American music legends :)

I loves me a metal ballad.

wolf 12-03-2010 09:41 PM

I adored Do They Know It's Christmas, despised We are the World for it's band-wagonness (and it was an insipid song).

I watched the documentary that ran on MTV over and over, could not afford the VHS at the time. My sister had the LP.

I used to be able to name everyone on it, can't any longer. Getting older, you know.

I like those 80's songs SG. I love the rock and metal ballads the best.

I almost posted ,'Mama I'm Coming Home', or No More Tears, Or 'Changes' but decided on this one.

I love Ozzy, Lita Ford is awesome too.
