NPR's 'Car Talk' Ending
Tom and Ray Magliozzi today announced that their final new episode of the Saturday morning show will be recorded at the end of September, 25 years after its launch. The AP, which notes that elder brother Tom is 74, reports that the brothers are ready to "stop and smell the cappuccino."

That's too bad. I don't even come close to catching every show, but when it's on, I stop to listen.

All good things must come to an end. Also Car Talk.

You won't have to worry about it for at least two more years.

And this one will take, unlike that fuckin' Garrison Keillor who regularly retires but somehow he's still on the fuckin' air.

We went to his show live in Atlanta last month. A highlight of my bucket list....

We will just have to agree to differ on his particular style of light "entertainment". :D

And for both programs, I appreciate the mandolin but I do not need to hear one in my life ever again (unless wielded by Peter Buck).

Gravdigr 06-11-2012 05:24 PM

Dinja know? Mandolin is Latin for 'What is that fucking racket?'

I jest here, but, I can take the mandolin if somebody is just playing the snot out of it. I really enjoy hearing someone play the bejeezus out of just about any instrument.

You should watch these girls and re-evaluate that statement. (I have known these sisters since they were knee-high to a grasshopper, btw.)

Wait a minute!! Why does nobody mention what the Lutherans and Methodists are saying back in his home town of Lake Wobegon Minnesota? Why so many opinions without discussing those who are most relevant?
