Mister McCain and Mister Graham...

...are, of course, right to take Mister Paul to task for his grandstanding.

The notion a government would ever kill a citizen on native soil is absurd.

There's not a stitch of evidence to support such fear mongering.

Really: can any one cite a single example of a government killing its own citizens?

That a government would kill citizens (with drones or guns or poisons, etc.) is as nonsensical as the suggestion a government would move to disarm a population through incremental gun controls.

Again: can any one cite a single example of government incrementally restricting firearms (with an eye toward a universal ban)?

Mister Rand must be made to understand: 'It can't happen here'.

Also...

...Mister Obama has made it clear as crystal (by way of the letter to Mister Rand) he does not believe himself empowered to kill Americans on American soil.

Any one suggesting Mr. Obama might contradict himself by way of legal/constitutional wrangling or 'interpretation' plainly needs an education (in the safeguards ensuring 'it can't happen here').

I think Henry wasn't being serious.

There were 6 million examples over in Nazi Germany.

Ya think?

Yeh, I know ... Civil war?

henry quirk 03-09-2013 09:28 AM

Civil war?

Unlikely.

War requires folks willing and capable of it.

The American majority has no taste or capacity for it, relying instead on a minority to get bloody.

No silly, we are far too Fat & Happy as a country for anything that would require that much motivation. I was referring to the one that already happened.
As you were.

And that is why I'm not presently worried about a US/China war. As long as I'm seeing tubby Chinese and tubby Americans, I'm pretty sure your nations won't throw that comfortable ease away for a decade of rationing and grief.

Now, North Korea on the other hand ...

"friendly" fire
the "disappeared" in Argentina

Am I getting warm yet?
