A Poem for Monica Lewinsky
Oh woman of the sky,
I often wander why, Why did we fail, To see the pie, I turned off the love, And unleashed the pain, All my evil was all in vain, Which could be a good thing, The clouds came, Without warning, Just as Life is greater than evil, The dust and ashes will, Remind the people, That a lie is only prequel, To the destruction of a leathal, Exposure caught in the middle, Of regret and sin, So if I had all to do again, I would foucs on good and try to win, The pen is mightyer than the sword, And a song of justice is greater than, Hurtfull words, I forgive you do you forgive me, I flee from unrigteousness, And now I see, That my eyes are only, Stuck in my head, So as I put you back to bed, I pray that you'll find love in what I've said. |

Do you recognize the woman below ? Or her name ?
First, I admit I watched the video below out of curiosity. Back when, I was angry with her, as a foolish twit that came close to ruining a presidency. Now, 10 years later, this woman has completely changed my attitude towards her. I urge you to watch her entire 22 minute TED lecture. She knows where of she speaks...and maybe JBKlyde did too And if you're not sure you want to spend all that much time, jump to the end (22:00) to see the reaction of her live audience. |
I always felt sorry for her. Even back then. Obviously made poor decisions, but she was young and stupid, and she wasn't trying to hurt anyone.
I even feel a little sorry for Linda Tripp. I mean Linda Tripp knew exactly what she was doing, and she was trying to hurt the President, and didn't care one bit about destroying this young woman in the process. So her motives were bad ones. But she got trashed pretty bad too. |
...
What consenting adults do in private really is none of my fucking business. Key: consent. no one consents to criminal violence against themselves. I know there were other factors involved in this particular fucked up episode, and as a result became more than just private interaction between consenting adults. but that's a whole section of threads for another time. |
Sorry, but I would like to steer this thread back to the TED video.
Maybe it is just a very good script - delivered well, but I feel Ms Lewinsky has "paid her dues" and finally able to face humiliation and use it as a life-changing event. At least that's why I posted it. |
...
Why do I even know of her name? Exclusively because there were salacious stories about what happened in private between her and President Clinton. As I said, that, and likely all the crap that followed from it, not my business. Has she risen above the shitstorm of the past? Seems like it. Good for her. |

Fuck her and Tripp too, they should both die in prolonged agony, for what they did to the country. :mad2:

It was a classified DoD pilot program to determine the affects of bringing volunteer comfort women to our volunteer military. The Commander-in-chief, concerned for the welfare of those in uniform, bravely insisted on being the first subject in the field test which was fraught with variables some of which were unknown at the time such as comfort women needing to be told to launder their clothing at the end of each workday. Who would have thunk it? That first experimental couple proved that even seasoned leadership could be thwarted by scuzzy slutiness. The program was terminated saving hundreds, if not thousands, of military careers and marriages. If there hadn't been a security breach, the participants probably would have gotten medals. The pilot program was later resurrected by David Petraeus; but, again with disastrous results and termination of the program. These unsung heroes and the wenches behind them shall not be forgotten.
