April 25, 2013 - May The Statues Speak
I happened upon this web page earlier this morning when my son asked me to pull up pictures of Palazzo Vecchio. He already knew what he wanted to print, so while we waited for the prints, I clicked around a bit and came across this amazing blog of images.
The website is in Russian, I believe. I tried a little translation and it looks like these pics were taken while touring Florence, Italy. http://cellar.org/2013/palazzo-vecchio statues.jpg I wonder what their discourse? http://cellar.org/2013/palazzo-vecch...es madonna.jpg This lovely lady's demeanor says it all . . . |

I thought she was saying "we wouldn't have to live standing up in a telephone booth if their damn deadbeat dads would pay child support."
I mean, 'cause she looks PISSED! |
+1 for the sacred edit.

Heinlein would tell you those are sculpture, not statues. "Statues are dead politicians."
|
"Stretch while you can, Monkey-Boy. Ever wonder where the other sextuplets went?"
|
The Madonna sculpture reminds me of some of the sculptures in the movie "The Haunting".
|
You can read what was recorded from the Bible, for the center two statues - Jesus being baptized by John the Baptist, in the Jordan River.
|
No, they're Greek.
They're arguing over who ate the last of the Tzatziki. Note the empty bowl and the waiters standing ready. |
Whatever.. they're awesome first-rate sculptures.
