Getting old
 

Just came back from concerts in the park with a friend who's the double nickel. After eating out for Chinese, doesn't she wander over and ride the Ring of Fire-sort of like a slingshot, but faster. I admit, I egged her on;). The rest of the night we sat on a bench, watching the little hormone bags play on their I-phones. I'd just like to know, when did it happen.When did I become old

Lately I've noticed myself taking the plate to the toaster, not carrying hot toast to the plate.

I didn't even try counting the wagons on that freight train.

It happened on a Thursday.

Getting old sucks, but, it beats the alternative.

The only reason I'm hating aging is the death of people I love, respect, admire.
Celeb and non-celeb. And when I say celeb I mean people who are justifiably well known because of their talent.

Couldn't give a shit about me.
Not saying that as one-upmanship.
I expect I'll go sooner than later is all.

I just got bifocals today. They are awesome. I can read, and then glance up and see into the distance. Awesome!

If your work involves computer screens you should look into tri-focals.
Such areas give you focus for reading, desk-top computer screens, and for distance.

(Health-care programs usually consider "work" activity as a valid reason for the small extra $ expense.)

Otherwise, you'll find yourself tilting your head back trying to make the "reading" area stretch out to the screen.
This is particularly true if you are standing behind and looking over
the shoulder of a student or colleague to see their screen.

Tri-focals were a god-send for me during teaching and training sessions.

I have trifocals, the little round circle fogs over when I clean the lenses. Only thing is it sux going on the down escalator. The trick is to focus on a spot in the distance, or I get vertigo-which I had last November-don't wish it on my worst enemy. I may as well have been in a coma, I was so out of it.

I think I'm the second oldest teacher on our staff but I'd say I feel/act younger than all of them. We did our old guy bike camp bike last night and this morning and I was playing like a damn kid. Of course, I'm about to go take a nap. :)
