Doe Hunt in Jan

I have a fairly large deer lease under game management. I need to cull some does in January (we have a late rut). If anyone is interested, drop me a line. I can provide a gun, crossbow, or compound bow. You can dry camp with me or stay in a motel about 15 miles away. I have elevated and ground blinds. If you kill one, I can help process the meat and tan the hide (hair on or off). Oh, I'm planning a 3 day hunt and we have bobcats, coyotes, and otters if you are interested.

BTW, we can play in my deuce (it makes it's own roads) or mud ride in the tracker after the hunt.

JohnSellars - I bet you would enjoy this. Don't worry about your illness, we can work around it & just think of the stories you will have after hanging out around the campfire with a bunch of rednecks sipping moonshine.

BusterB - You know your are invited. I'm sorry I missed our earlier meet.

ZippyT & Grav - It wouldn't be that far of a trip for you

Ortho & Lola - Y'all would have fun & would be treated with total respect. Plus my daughters will be there

Anyone else that would consider driving to Vanfleet, Ms, You are more than welcome. Just drop a line

Van Fleet or Van Vleet? You or Google be wrong.

Big Sarge 11-19-2013 07:32 AM

It does sound like fun. I don't have the vacation days left, though ... :(

Buster - We'll be in the area known as Van Fleet. The below link is to some property in the area.

here's a pic of a 3 legged doe that needs to be put down

That's only about a tank of gas away...But, I don't travel well, and Popdigr has all the deer he can handle at his new place. He lets multiple deer walk almost every day, (so he can prolong his hunting time:D) though gun season has been in full swing here for the last couple weeks, and he doesn't hunt during gun season. Too many ijits w/guns, he says.

Thanks for the offer though, Sarge. That was very good of you.

Ortho & Lola, if you show up....

That stick you hear snap in the night, behind your tent, that rustle in the long grass...

Yeah, that'll be me.

That is one healthy three-legged doe! Since she's so healthy-looking, I'd be tempted to let her keep on keeping on. Let those survival genes pass on to the next generation. She would suffer, eventually, though.

Thanks for invite, Sarge. If I could, I would visit you. As for the idea of hunting, it scares me.

Big Sarge 11-20-2013 04:52 AM

i think all of you are scared to sleep in the woods with someone who looks like
a polar bear. either that or you're afraid to eat my famous raccoon and sweet potatoes cooked in a dutch oven. I'm even thinking about possum gravy and biscuits for breakfast

footfootfoot 11-20-2013 10:45 AM

A doe that special you don't want to eat all at once...

School starts up on the second of January.
Bummer.

Big Sarge 11-21-2013 12:33 AM

we to to cull down to a 1:1 ratio. bucks should be in the 4 year old range
