January 25, 2014 - See Thru Sea Creature
http://cellar.org/2014/shrimp-and-ca...ws-agency-.jpg
This Salpa maggiore was found swimming on the surface of the water north of New Zealand where a fisherman noticed it and caught it out of curiosity. It felt scaly, firm and jelly-like and was completely see through. The only thing that could be seen was the orange blob. Turns out the creature is barrel-shaped and moves by pumping water through its body. The Salpas life cycle involves alternating generations of solitary existence and living as a group forming long chains. Discovered at GrindTV |
Salpa maggiore, eh!
looks like a squid jellyfish. does it have the same predators as regular jellyfish? |
The real question is what are Swedish Fish doing so far south of Stockholm?
Does clear = vanilla flavor?:p: |
Wasn't Sal "Pa" Maggiore an enforcer for the Gambino Family?
For an invertebrate, that guy sure looks bony. |
