User renamed and gone
 

The user formerly known as t*****r is now known as "it" and banned by desire; he wanted us to delete all his posts but we don't do that.

This is so you know.

Deleting all posts/threads is not something we do and in almost every case except maybe two, users thought they were vulnerable by having information "out there" on the Internet, but were actually being drama queens. For your knowledge, anything posted here remains here, but also, it remains permanently on the Internet Archives, so even if the Cellar were to go away, the permanent record is not erased.

My own opinion is that, for 99.9% of us, it would be insanely rare for someone to find your handle, search for every instance of it on the Internets, and read every paragraph ever posted in the assumption that it is you. But who knows, you may someday be so highly renowned that archivists drag out your every word. And if so, why not give them something to talk about?

I'm a little sad about this. But what can you do?

I should add that I told him I was willing to delete 3 of his posts instead of the laundry list of threads he wanted deleted. It was a completely arbitrary number, but seemed reasonable to me. So if you go poking around old threads and notice that I edited a post to replace his words with an ellipsis , that's the story behind that. They were sensitive posts to him.
