November 11th, 2015: Busted Banger Branch
What's that caught in the branches of that tree? It looks like... could it be, oh my god, some guy's busted banger? Shredded sausage? :thepain3:
............ http://cellar.org/2015/banger.jpg Yes, yes it is, however it's a British banger, or breakfast sausage to you colonials. Quote:

I would only identify that as a sausage in my nightmares.

The article quoted is from the BBC website which uses English as written and spoken in the UK. Organised is quite correct. Comprehensive list of American and British spelling differences |
So, you admit you do it wrong over there. :lol2:

English is like Linux. It's an open source language which we graciously allow anyone to use and adapt to their own requirements. We still hold the copyright on the kernel. ;) |

Kernel who?

Not kernel, colonel. :p:

Yeah, I fully realise the spelling differences, but it always pops out at me and I just felt the need to joke about it because, well, as I read each one, it's like a little "bang" goes off in my head. I could have been a proofreader in another life. But I'd have to stick to one sub-dialect apparently.
Ethnocentrism: judging another culture solely by the values and standards of one's own culture Thus my "html" tags in my message. Heh. |
Oh, they all got the joke, They were going along with it.
