I think you mean everyone over 70 Bruce. ;)
|
I'm only 58 and I like all the songs on Bruce's list.
|
Whuuuuuut? No one has, IMO, the most important and idealistic song ever written?
"Imagine" by John Lennon - 1971 |
And no Rundgren on my list?
Todd Rundgren - "We Gotta Get You a Woman" - 1970 |
Challenge, pick on AC/DC song,
"You shook me all night long" would not have been my choice, "It's a long way to the top if wanna rock'n'roll" maybe. |
Any list of songs that has no Zeppelin is bunk
|
This is an excellent demonstration of why AARP is the devil, giving their acolytes moments of doubt, making the masses doubt their worthiness. Afraid of failing in the be there or be square test, the nervous will redouble their contributions and efforts to spread the AARP gospel with a zeal worthy of Mormons and JWs.
A Devilish clever ploy because music is personal, there can be no one list fits all, definite list of 16 or 24, or 100, must haves. |

Small clarification, mine are singles only
this was the era when singles were important and varied and represented something in our popular culture |
As for AC DC it has to be a Bon song and I would say Dirty Deeds just because no song has ever been written about providing contract killings and whatnot... at a bargain
it's really rare for a hit single to be an advertisement... normally the ads ran between the songs |
