7/18/2003: Sea Lion radio
http://cellar.org/2003/sealionradio.jpg
A Steller sea lion named Faith surfaces in Seward, Alaska, revealing a lollipop thingy on her head. The glued-on tracking device will fall off later this summer. Faith is the first Steller to be released into the wild by the people at the Alaska SeaLife Center, and they plan to keep an eye on her for a while. I thought it was funny because this is the same scale antenna, at the same angle, as the VW antennas. |
Great picture, UT. Looks like a party animal, for sure.

How'd ya spot that one? Good eye, I guess. |
I would think that the organization tracking these cars would simply use the sales records instead of going through all the trouble to mount those transmitters on them.
How long does it take the VW antennae to fall off? |
Cos I have one is why! It works pretty well.

CRUNCH. CRUNCH. CRUNCH.

Its always about VWs with you isn't it? ;)

I've been let down again by IotD. Here I was thinking it would be a radio in the form of a sea lion. Or sea lions with their own conservative talk show somewhere.
|
VWs
you know, i was run over by a VW once.
(explains a lot i guess.) but i don't have anything against most of them. :) |

Wait a min, I just realized that Joy's earlier message isn't exactly correct, which is important because it concerns a very important matter... the number of licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie(TM)-Pop.
The wise old owl does crunch into the -Pop but only after taking three licks. Then he announces that the number of licks it takes to get to the center is THREE. It's the announcer who suggests that the world may never know, but the current thinking we have on the subject remains THREE. I HAD to make this correction, because I'm using up valuable brain-space remembering that commercial in detail, and before now this information had not been useful at all. |
ah—you're right. i can hear him now....
...uttering a very decided 'th-r-r-r-EEE.'
and the dejection on the boy's face as the narrator concludes that the world may never know. sorry for causing all the extra brain exertion, UT. :) |
It seems that there have been studies:
