9/11/2003: French editorial cartoon
http://cellar.org/2003/willem-mars.gif
This was published a few weeks ago when Mars was at its closest approach. The caption translated reads: Rumsfeld: The Martians are getting closer and they are supposed to have weapons of mass destruction. Bush: I'll give them a last warning. Elsewhere on the Cellar we are talking about the NYT editorial which claims that Bush has squandered the good will that the world felt towards the US on 9/11. Regardless of how you feel about that, the cartoon might be evidence of it in some senses. I found it on Merde in France, which blogs the US/France relationship with a skeptical eye. |

Well, hrm... I dunno, his take seems to be that France is slowly dying and that its overwillingness to make enemies with the US is part of that.

Actually if it were in English, I could see that cartoon appearing in a number of U.S. publications.;)

Is that sorta like "BSD is dying"? Now France is dying! I guess now I've heard it all...
