Biohazard on the Beltway
Clearly what needs to happen is for congress to suspend all physical mail delivery ... why they didn't come to this conclusion sooner is beyond me.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,110270,00.html Several congresscritters have actually become more responsive to emails than they were in the past. Conventional wisdom used to say that email never got read ... that, of course, was before the first anthrax attacks. What this is all likely to come down to is some lower level functionary in a biohazard suit opening and making electronic copies of all mail coming into the congressional post office, then dropping the originals directly into an incinerator. |
At least all an email virus will kill is their computer network...

MyDoom is a bit more sinister than that.
The pingflood of sco and microsoft are just coverups for the fact that it installs a backdoor on the machine. It's a common tactic by spammers as it gives them virtualy millions of spam servers that cannot be traced back to them. |
Overheard at FBI Headquarters:
"Arrest Richard Jewell immediately, classify him as an enemy combatant and send his butt to Guantanamo to chill for a couple years till I figure out what in hail's going on here. Wait! Did I say Richard Jewell? Uhhhhh, make that Stephen Hatfield. " "NO WAIT! What the hell am I thinking? Arrest BOTH of them! Who needs probable cause and due process when we have the [trumpet blares] Patriot Acts!" "Git 'em boyz." |
Last time I sent my congress critter an email, I got a canned reply saying if I was concerned about something, write a letter.:(
