The Cellar - so ... effin' .. cold

Ugh, I wrote out a whole fucking message and then there was an error and I lost the whole thing. Shitty.

Anyway, I remember there was talk of winter camping a while back. Thought I'd take the liberty to get all of that in for everyone this past weekend. I went with my old boy scout troop to their annual Klondike derby .. it's this thing area districts in the mid-atlantic region do where scouts build sleds and compete in various events (water boiling is my favorite - build a fire and a stand to hold a kettle, and boil water as fast as possible ... with 3 matches and sparse tinder). It was pretty fucking cold at Jack Frost ... some images to tickle the mind.

Below is when we arrived ... and set up camp in 15 inches of snow.

Most of the scouts were pretty miserable ... it was 18 degrees Saturday, 4 degrees Saturday night, and 12 degrees Sunday morning

This kid is fucking nuts, but whatever. Nipples can get frostbitten, but he doesn't seem to care.

Overnight, even though I slept with my dig cam in my sleeping bag, it completely froze and wouldn't even turn on. After five minutes of warming it, it turned on, but wsn't really working right (notice the lack of focus). Wasn't until I made it back to civilization tonight that my cam finally went back to normal. My toes, btw, are fucking frozen.
