America's Last Korean War POW

I've been following Charles Robert Jenkins story for some time. It looks now as if there might be some hope for him.

He is listed as deserter and it is complicating his return and reunion that he would be prosecuted by US should he leave North Korea. If ever there was a case for pardon, his is it, if he entered NK on purpose or was tricked 40 years of life in NK is punishment enough.

I doubt if he would get a pardon while W is in power.:(

Could you maybe sum up the story here briefly? I'm interested but I don't hang out here so I can follow links to stuff I didn't have time or inclination to read in the first place.

If you are intreged I think I have done my job, go on! the linked stories are short and the source is most reputible

If you are not interested don't bother, I have often seen people around here complain the other way

Here are some other interesting links regarding North Korea to frustrate you further

Korea's Dirty Dozen: On the morning of Aug. 23, 1971, the recruits snapped. One of them walked into the camp commander's office with a laundry basket, pulled out a crowbar and drove it through the commander's forehead

Description of PyongYang metro: The escalators go down a long way, strong evidence that the system could be used as a bomb shelter

Why should we run up UT"s bandwidth bills, when all it takes is one click of the damn mouse to read the story?:p

Damn you guys are hassling me today ;-), not the whole story, just a teaser, then a link for more would be great.

Oooo, lightning...better shut down.
