Ken Kesey is dead
He died relatively young, he was only 66.
I read 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' and thought the movie stayed reasonably true to the book (which he didn't and hated the movie, but it brought him his greatest fame). He also felt burned that his name wasn't even mentioned at the Oscar ceremony where his story won the 'Best Picture' award and many others. I would have felt that way, too. 'The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test' by Tom Wolfe, is an excellent study of this young genius at his peak, and is a must-read for anyone who longs to have lived through those relatively innocent days of the '60s. Just to correct a minor misconception:
He never watched the movie. |
