3/4/2005: Trained bird steals money

http://cellar.org/2004/billsnatcher.jpg

Another day, another xoB find, another WaPo image from China. This time it's a bird trained to steal bills. They're appearing at a fair, so it's not just some random act of thievery!

Reminds me of the birds that were stealing money out of a self-serve car wash machine a couple years ago somewhere in Maryland.

I can see the headlines now "Birds Dominate the World : Surrender your sunflower seeds"

Somebody is going to kill me for this but..
doesn't every married man have a "bird" who likes money...

capnhowdy 03-04-2005 04:47 PM

....it's not a "bird", wormfood. It's called a "chick".
NOW I'M IN TROUBLE TOO!

Yeah, she's a chick, but I give her the money--it's stealing when I spend it.

They are called birds on that other side of the pond.

"Uhh, my phone bill? I never got it. I think my neighbors bird stole it. Do I still have to pay?"

Oh not that kind of bill. Nevermind.

Clodfobble 03-06-2005 09:09 AM

Oh yes, having once had my mailbox broken into without my knowledge and thus never receiving a month's worth of bills, I can assure you that you are still required to pay, including late fees. [/unnecessary anecdote]

I also saw the same birds show in one park. The trained birds would take 10RMB rather than 5RMB. Of course, the birds don't return the money to the visitors. Oh, the birds also become snobbish nowadays.

xoxoxoBruce 03-07-2005 03:45 AM

What? They train them to choose the higher denonination bill?
Carneys are con men regardless of race, creed, religion or region.

It was nothing like that time the Killer Bees broke into my house demanding to know where I kept my pollen.
