1/3: Lying eyes thermal imaging
http://cellar.org/2002/lyingeyes.jpg
I don't like to duplicate Slashdot stories but since /. doesn't include pictures, most won't have seen this anyway. Basically, the idea is that lying causes blood to rush to the eyes, a technique that some say could be used quickly in airports and such. Put thermal detectors up that could get you images like the above --- It's interesting, but relying on anything so inconclusive is a step in the wrong direction, imo. |
Well now that they can't hide their lying eyes...
Airport screeners should watch for the telltale smile of a potential hijacker also.
...It's a thin disguise. |
Thought by now they'd realize...

Sorry, my last post was a reply to Joe's comment about airport screeners and lying smile. Didn't see your complete this thought ...
Good one! |
Is this brand new technology?
It doesn't really appear so, but the first I've heard of it has been in the past couple of days.
If not new, it seems law enforcement would already be using it. While probably not admissible in court, it could prove useful in investigations. Better than a polygraph! No search warrant needed! If it is new, you might as well take 'Terrorist Dowsing Rods' to the public and sell thousands. The science behind all this is questionable, to say the least. IMO, bad idea. |
Downright silly if you ask me.
Good exmaple of paranoia, polygraphs are the same, very questionable science. |
