1/6/2006: Snow pig race

http://cellar.org/2005/snowpigrace.jpg

IotD will not fail to post a pig race, and if it's a pig race in the snow, well so much the better.

The three piglets Alpina, Fondue and Paeuli compete in the snow in a New Year's piggies race in Klosters, Switzerland, Sunday, Jan.1, 2006.

How many of these does it take to pull a sled?

I always enjoy these pig pics. I'd love to see one of these races in person, but I've never had the chance.

I think it's interesting that a spokesperson for these idiots last name is Feral. Imagine that. ;)

I would have loved to have seen an image (or video) of the piggies taking a corner, prefereably one with some ice on it ... pig pileups like that amuse me.

(By the way, is it wrong to watch the wheelchair start of the Boston Marathon in hopes of a repeat of the pileup on the turn after the downhill?)

wolf is an evil entity that makes me laugh

(not an actual evil entity, but runs an excellent simulation)

You know, for some reason, I thought I was going to get to see some sort of furry species of Siberian Snow Pig when I read the subject line...not that this isn't cute, but you can understand me being a little bit disappointed.

they shave them up before the race. makes them more aerodynamic, not to mention easier to eat afterwards...

And that's why I love it here!

Although I'm glad it was captioned as a snow pig race. To me it looks suspiciously like the front piggy is strolling home from market, minding his own business, when out of nowhere comes a thunder of trotters and the Grey Pig Gang effects another vicious attack.....
