If it's someone who is still around and the sigline has been changed, it's gone forever.
Which is, I think, one of the failings of this system ... the sigs change on all posts, not just posts forward from the time of change.
And no, toad, I don't see any reason to change this.
This thread which identifies the goodies of both user titles and sigs is cool enough.
