A 2nd phone call to a radio station
Yes...it's real. I think I was incredibly bored one day. From "Sycamore: The College Years"
station: *insert station name here*
caller: Yeah, I was wanting* to request that you not play a song please...
s: Ummm...oooookay...
c: Could you please quit playing Boston for maybe 5 or 6 hours?
s: Hey! They played "Don't Look Back" at my prom!
c: Oh shit! That was 20 fucking years ago! They put out 2 CDs in the 70s and fucking drop off earth until that crappy ass "Amanda" song! And that last CD sucked without Brad Delp! I mean, at least if I fucking have to hear Boston, I'd at least like to hear Brad Delp!
s: Well, what do you think we play them all the time for?
c: Because you're fucking bored, you play shitty music, and all the people that listen to you are either potheads or fucking Lemay** hoosiers...and...
*click*
*-"I was wanting": An example of poor English grammar, used by way too many people. I fully blame it on my year and change in the South.
**-Lemay: Unincorporated section of southern St. Louis County, just across the city line from St. Louis on its southern edge. Philadelphians: think Bristol or Morrisville. DC/Baltimore: Think Dundalk or Essex. Others: Think of a community in your area where they have not yet left the 1980s, wear mullets with pride, and crank Lynyrd Skynyrd like there's no tomorrow.
