I balked at the part of the online application process that asked for my SSN.
I consider my privacy precious and finite* and every time I give away some of it, that part is gone forever. Sometimes that part is connected to the entirety of the rest, and it could be *all* gone.
This coyness is real oldskool I know, and likely a barrier to deeper and wider market penetration by my employment credentials and availability. I struggle with each application with this balance.
Hmm. Maybe I'll just screw my courage up and enter the SSN. Worries me though.
