Kelo v. New London

http://powerlineblog.com/archives/010822.php

The right of local government to kick you out for the sake of economic development has already been contested. The government won.

What is sad is that in this case, the power company lacks the balls to be up front and tell people exactly what is happening. At the end of the day, they will put their power lines exactly where they want to. Looks like they didn't pick a PR company with the necessary experience in the field of compulsory development. Rather than hamfistedly trying to sidestep the affected parties, the usual procedure is to tell them the truth and suffer the protests until the victims realise the futility of their arguments.NOBODY WANTS POWER LINES IN THEIR BACK YARD, BUT EVERYONE WANTS POWER.
