Why not just state that the book was a novel?

I read the book (DaVinci Code)... it was pretty good. I mostly enjoyed the discussions of the various works of art - I looked them up on the net as they came up in the book, and verified the details Brown pointed out. I found it more enjoyable than A&D for that reason alone (I liked Deception Point better than A&D too just becuase it was
different than DC... A&D was redundant.)
I'll see the movie when I run into the dvd on the cheap rack at Target.
