I wish I could claim credit for this one...
A coworker once put scotch tape over the mouthpiece of another coworker's desk phone, so for a good couple of weeks, he couldn't figure out why people thought he sounded muffled when he made calls. I think the office tech guy was the one to finally see the tape, while trying to 'fix' the phone.
