NFL 2008-2009 Position Analysis

Quarter-Back

1)Drew Brees (New Orlean Saints)
He's far from being the best in the NFL, but his weapons are perfectly fit to match his abilities.
At the end of the season his numbers will certainly show him to be the most accurate Quarterback in the game.

2)Peyton Manning
(Indianapolis Colts)
There is no doubt... he is the greater active QB in the game.
His tools are not the same, but Antony Gonzales should provide him with some favourable match-ups, and Addai has been working on the catch.

3)Tom Brady (New England Patriots)
The reason why this guy even looks remotely good, is his OL, which is clearly the best pass protecting line in the game.
The Patriots easy schedule should rank him as high as #3 this year.

4)Derek Anderson (Clevland Browns)
A pretty high ranking for someone who may not last the whole year given the fat that an amazing Quinn is waiting for his turn.
Derek's tools are of the absolute elite which will result in him shining even more this season.

5)Tony Romo (Dallas Cowboys)
His fast release is what has got him here.
I can't say he'll have the best season, but he still holds some solid options.

6)Carson Palmer (Cincinatti Bengals)
I may be wrong ranking him so low, as he is capable of going top 3.

7)Eli Manning (New York Giants)
If you had asked me 2 years ago, i would have told you that this guy won't be in the top 20, but the truth is, he has evolved.
He really is good, his tools are less than the ones above him.

8)Phillip Rivers
(San Diego Chargers)
Poor guy, he's got Gates, but every other option is basically covered by a greater CB.

9)Donovan McNabb (Philadelphia Eagles)
Something tells me that he's actually gonna make it through the season this time.
He's top of the line, but his options are not so solid.

10)Jason Campell (Washington Redskins)
I think we're gonna see a whole different style of play this year from this Redskins offence.
That constant running game is gonna turn into 50/50.

Running Backs

1)Darren McFadden (Oakland Raiders)
Yeah yeah, I know... he's 20 years old.
I'm telling you, this guy can do it all.
He's the fastest guy out there.
He's tough.
He can catch.
He can throw.
Just watch! lol

2)Adrian Peterson
(Minnesota Vikings)
If you weren't watching last year, than you really don't know.
This guy will go down as one of the best of all time.

3)LaDainian Tomlinson (San Diego Chargers)
When this guy came to the NFL, I thought that he would never be surpassed.

4)Brian Westbrook (Philadelphia Eagles)
Brian is the best reciever McNabb's got.
He will have some competition from Darren in that category this season though.

5)Marshawn Lynch (Buffalo Bills)
This should be his year!

6)Clinton Portis (Washington Redskins)
He deserves a ring, and should get one this year.

7)Brandon Jacobs (New York Giants)
He remains elite, and will carry the Giants this season.

8)Steven Jackson (St.Louis Rams)
He's consistent, but i've got a feeling that the Rams will need him too much this season, and its gonna cost them.

9)Frank Gore (San Fransisco 49ers)
He won't be as good as 2 years ago, but he'll be much better than last year.

10)Joseph Addai (Indianapolis Colts)
He's being doing a lot of work in the recieving category and should ranked #3 in that stat by the end of the season.

Wide Recievers

1)Braylon Edwards (Clevland Browns)
There is no doubt in my mind.
He's the best in the game.

2)Andre Johnson (Houston Texans)
His numbers will get better this year as Houston gets even better as a whole.

3)Terrell Owens (Dallas Cowboys)
One of the best after the catch.
Great chemistry with Tony.

4)Steve Smith (Carolina Panthers)
He'd be ranked higher on another team.
He is an incredible athlete!

5)Randy Moss (New England Patriots)
He's a jerk for dropping the ball a thousand times with the Raiders.
He had his season last year.
He will be good again, but he's far from being as good as the ones above him.

6)Marques Colston (New Orlean Saints)
What a season this guys gonna have!
He'll be open most of the time as any defence will have to be considering all the other options on this rich offence.

6)Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona Cardinals)
He's proven himself time and time again.
He is amongst the absolute elite.

7)Chad Johnson (Cincinatti Bengals)
I'm probably gonna be pulling my hair later for ranking him so low.
Carson and Chad can make magic happen.

8)Roy Williams (Detroit Lions)
The lions schedule see's him playing plenty of games against weak CB's.
His numbers are gonna look good.

9)T.J Houshmandzadeh (Cincinatti Bengals)
It pays to have Palmer throwing to you.
Lets not forget he'll be #2 behind Chad.
He'll have a lot of favourable match-ups.

10)Lee Evans (Buffalo Bills)
This guy will be top 10 at the end of the season.

Tight Ends

1)Antonio Gates (San Diego Chargers)
The Tiger Woods of Tight Ends.

2)Kellen Winslow (Clevland Browns)
Best of the rest

3)Jason Witten (Dallas Cowboys)
He takes the Cowboys Offence to another level.

4)Chris Cooley (Washington Redskins)
This guy just keeps getting better!

5)Jeremy Shockey (New Orlean Saints)
If he stays healthy, he'll be ranked #3 in the end.

Defence

1)San Diego Chargers
Wherever you look in this defence, you'll find superstars.

2)Jacksonville Jaguars
Heavy hitting team.
The whole game-plan compliments this defence.

3)Chicago Bears
They're still the best, but their offence does not allow this defence to rest enough to play at its best.

4)Washington Redskins
They spent years building the backs.
They've just added a monster to the front.

5)Minnesota Vikings
Its silly ranking them in the top 5 as they can't stop the pass.
Their run defence is top of the line.
Add the fact that Adrian is running in the offence and you've got one of the most rested defences in the game.....their numbers will look good.
